The process to discontinued RSBI schools at Junior High School Level is seen as the most appropriate decision by the wider community. The decision non to have RSBI schools is mostly ground on the high cost for entrance and monthly recompense for state schools as opposite to a less dearly-won fee for state schools. This paper will highlight the tenet and learning process particularly for the three core subjects viz. Math, Science and side of meat subjects. Unfortunately, the prescribed way that called PAIKEM (Pembelajaran Aktif Inovatif Kreatif Efektif dan Menyenangkan) only become a brand, as Bax (2010) stated, and this is due to the lack of knowledge and teachers professional trainings.




As an English practitioner, I am concerned more on the teaching of English for the three core subjects and I would like to cast the improvement in material development in monastic order to achieve PAIKEM and briefly compare to the similar program in Malaysia.
Some scholars (Coleman 2009; Bax 2010; Whitehead 2010; Perkasa 2011) have been evaluating the English language competence of RSBI teachers and the findings show that most of the teachers are novice users and the competent teachers are less than 25%. The impact of this lack of competence resulted in the lack of stimulus for students English language skills.
Another look into conducted by Whitehead (2010) focuses on the native speakers of English who were engage as supporting unit for RSBI schools and the findings show that the native speakers teachers did not have the appropriate qualification.
