The old military personnels eyes were bloodshot, like broken windows to an injured soul. The terra firma was different now, and he hardly recognised it. Life had muddled its meaning, happiness had forsaken him, leaving only sadness to accomplish the void of his soul. Despair was sown on his heart, plaguing him with a never-failing sorrow which haunted him everywhere he went. Despoiled by misery, he travelled towards Los Angeles, in search of his childhood memories.

The incisive winds continued their relentless assault as my 1988 Camero raced across the interstate drive style. The rattling engine emitted a low pitched emit as it brought me ever closer to my destination. The world was bitter and cold. The heavy barrier of the smothering smog barricaded the Earth from the sun. Ignoring the complaints of my imperfect old bones, I persevered under the frigid temperature.  Beyond the highway lay the Nevada desert. A vast expanse of barren wasteland, stretching for miles without end. Violent dust storms ravaged its surface, destroying any remnants of carriage without mercy. I can see the metropolisscape of Los Angeles appearing from the horizon. Its mechanised facade doing little to hide the corruption and filth indoors itself.



The city was not what it used to be, its looming skyscrapers appe atomic number 18d as a colorise on the land, a symbol of humanitys greed, cattle ranch across the world like a plague.
One by one, young drivers in their strange modern cars overtook me; they were drawn towards the city like drones to its queen. I despised the younger generation; they are nothing but savages; plundering the earth and destroying everything in their way in order to fulfil their insatiable thirst for riches and power. Humans have changed. I no longer face a connection to these creatures. Beneath their human masks lay the misshapen soul of beasts. The greed of these savages had desecrated the environment.
