Recently, it seems that a large percent of the Statesns have become what around could call obsessed with the island of Jersey trend. All of the bare and obsession started with the first season of an MTV reality series empower Jersey Shore which featured eight Italian Americans from the red-hot York and New Jersey area who refer to themselves as guidos and guidettes. What is a guido? Most people on the east coast tardily tell the word as a slur against Italian-American hands of a certain class and swagger. So if people recognize this word as a slur, why is it being employ freely on picture? This is the first bearing that exemplifies how this television array queers the image of American assimilation as a whole. To some Italian-Americans, the word guido can be just as offensive as the n word is to African-Americans. This could possibly draw American culture in a negative way to those of other cultures.
Another reason that Jersey Shore could violate the image of American culture is the motto that the cast members in the show live their daily lives by, Gym, Tan, Laundry, or cognize as GTL. Gym, Tan, Laundry to a guido means going to the gym, tanning, and purchasing the best clothes everyday.



GTL is literally all that the people who pick out themselves as guidos care about, no matter how much notes they have to spend to live the GTL lifestyle. As long as they are muscular (known as gorillas or juice heads), highly tan, looking their best with the newest hairstyle and clothing, nothing else matters. If someone from a all different culture than ours saw this kind of behavior on television they could assume that all people in America are narcissistic and self-centered like the characters in the show portray themselves to be.
Yet another way that the show Jersey Shore could potentially violate the image of American culture is the way the cast members party.
