Broken Promises
The moisture from the ahead of time morning dew danced weakly on her skin, quickly awakening her understanding of self. As she was awakened by the dew, the dawns light appeared to be compelling her to walk into its truth. She gave in, facing the harsh worldly concern of what happened the night before. Glaring out the window, she felt as if everyone knew her discredit and everyone was judging her.
Hannah, only 19, was the youngest child of her very proud and right Judaic family. Hannahs vex, Amish, was a respected Rabbi that had hopes of her marrying one of the Jewish scholars that he mentored. The women in her Jewish community accepted the situation that the men dominated them. But Hannah was a dreamer. Secretly, she dreamed of a demeanor of individualism. A life in which she was free to bilk in her true passion of dancing. A life that did non include obeying the strict demands of her father. She vowed to escape the obligations placed on her, moreover did not possess the resources or bravery to do it. That is, until she met Enrico, the Italian dance instructor that was 15 years her senior. Enrico was everything she only imagined herself to be: charismatic, daring, adventurous, and care-free.
He made her timber as if she were his equal, for his reactions to her made her feel like the queen of all women. The only problem is that Enrico is a married man.
A year has passed, and Enricos promise to leave his wife has yet to come. Her conscious is yelling to her that she is committing an awful sin that her father would not approve of. She knows she should leave him, but has become consumed with the juicy and passionate, secretive rendezvous that they share. It is during these moments that she feels free. Free from being the image of the soft servant that her father would have her to be. Enrico is an illusion of how she always dreamt her life to be.
